Joshua Liao, MD, MSHP

Class of 2017

Dr. Liao is a general internist in the Hospital Medicine Group and the Associate Medical Director of Contracting and Value-Based Care at UW Medicine. In his clinical practice, Dr. Liao strives to provide excellent care to patients admitted to the hospital. As Associate Medical Director, he helps lead initiatives aimed at improving the quality and value of care provided to patients at UW.

Dr. Liao earned a B.A. in English Literature and B.S. in Biochemistry & Cell Biology from Rice University and his medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine. He is board-certified in internal medicine and trained at Brigham & Women’s Hospital where he was also a Clinical Fellow in Medicine at Harvard Medical School and Fellow in the Brigham & Women’s Center of Healthcare Delivery Sciences. He is an Adjunct Senior Fellow at the Leonard Davis Institute of Health Economics in the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, where he obtained a M.Sc. in health services and policy research.
