Dori Abel, MD
Dr. Dori Abel is a fellow physician in the Division of Pediatric Rheumatology at CHOP. She grew up in the Philadelphia suburbs and graduated from Duke University with a Bachelor of Arts in an individualized major entitled “A Gendered Examination of Global Health Inequalities.” She earned her medical degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine, where she was also a Health Justice Scholar. She completed her pediatrics residency at NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia University.
Dr. Abel is pursuing the MSHP degree with a concentration in Healthcare Quality & Safety. She has a strong interest in health equity, medication adherence and outcomes for patients with chronic rheumatic disease. With this training, she aims to explore the impact of treatment adherence on disease activity in children with arthritis and drivers of suboptimal adherence to improve disease outcomes and narrow the known disparity gaps.
