Jeffrey Eugene, MD

Jeffrey Eugene is a native of Savannah, GA. He obtained his undergraduate degree from Hampton University in Cellular and Molecular Biology. He earned his Doctor of Medicine degree at Morehouse School of Medicine. He completed pediatric residency training at Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh in Pittsburgh, PA where he was in the Pediatric Advocacy Leadership Service (PALS) Primary Care track. He currently is a second year Adolescent Medicine Fellow and a first year Academic General Pediatrics Fellow at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.  

 

He chose to specialize in adolescent medicine to guide and support the health and wellness of adolescents. He finds adolescent development fascinating and sees adolescence as a key time of transition that offers a unique opportunity for physicians to guide teens in establishing healthy decision making and developing healthy emotional and physical health that promote wellness in adulthood. His research interest is identity formation in young black men and exploring the role identity plays in health behaviors and emotional well-being of young black men. His career vision is to realize a better world for young black men through fostering healthy identity development, promoting emotional well-being, and empowering young black men to secure optimal physical and mental health.
