Navin Vij, MD, MSHP

Navin Vij, MD is an Internal Medicine/Pediatric trained physician who grew up in Bloomington, MN. He completed his undergraduate studies at Rice University, where he majored in Political Science and was a co-founder of the Baker Institute Student Forum at the Baker Institute for Public Policy. He also spent time working on health policy issues while interning in British Parliament, at the Center for Strategic and International Studies, and also with the Texas Program for Society and Health. He subsequently completed an International Health Track during medical school at Baylor College of Medicine. After completing an Internal Medicine/Pediatric Residency and Chief Residency at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, he has worked as an Internal Medicine Hospitalist and continued his involvement with education as an Assistant Program Director for the Med-Peds Residency Program at Case Western. Beyond his interest in academics, Dr. Vij has also been involved with advocacy and outreach efforts related to Hepatitis C. He has served as a Member of the National Patient Advisory Committee for the American Liver Foundation and is involved with the Caring Ambassadors Program as a Board Member. He plans on pursuing an inter-disciplinary career that combines clinical medicine with an active role in shaping the delivery of healthcare from a policy perspective.
