Kymberly Gonzalez, MD

Kymberly Gonzalez, M.D. is a pediatrician who grew up in Dallas, TX. She earned her undergraduate degree with a Bachelor's in Business Administration from Southern Methodist University. While there she planned and oversaw educational and mentorship programming for Latino youth. In addition, she founded Health n' Motion, a community-based healthy lifestyles program targeting Latino families. She received her doctorate in medicine from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas. She furthered her interest in community health and community partnerships by developing a community-based childhood obesity prevention program, Fit For Health. She then completed her residency in pediatrics at Children's Health-Dallas/UT Southwestern. While there, she developed a healthy lifestyles program centering on nutrition and parenting for at risk teen parents. In addition, she spent a couple of months in Peru learning about the barriers to the delivery of health in developing countries. Through that experience, she developed a pediatric preventative care model training model that has been incorporated in a health system in Peru. She plans a career combining general academic pediatrics, administration, community partnerships, and teaching medical students and residents.
